Main Level: Complete with two bedrooms with three total beds, two twin beds and one queen bed. The main level will work for a total of four people IF a couple sleeps in the queen bed. There is one bathroom with a shower, a full kitchen, living room and storage room for gear. You also have access to a porch with a barbecue grill. Propane is provided. You’ll also have WiFi.

One of the best parts of our River Ranch House is the proximity to the river. You can fish 100 yards from this cozy, country home! Fishing activities on the ranch are balanced with efforts to restore and perpetuate natural aquatic environments and wildlife habitat for a host of species. Montana Mexican John Ranch owns both sides of the river so fishing is private to our guests. We have 3.1 miles of river frontage and these fish rarely see an imitation fly.

North Ranch Cowboy Cabins

Two cowboy cabins with a shower/bathroom facility in the middle.

The North Ranch Cowboy Cabins are more rustic. These cowboy cabins are updated from the original cabins built in 1940 for the cowboys working the ranch. All wall frames and wood floors are original to this day. Preserving the history of the ranch is something you’ll see at both the North Ranch and River Ranch. One cabin includes a stove, refrigerator and microwave. The other is for sleeping only.

There is also a separate bath house with two showers, two toilets, stand up urinal and three wash sinks. It was designed for accomodating four to six clients at a time.

These cabins allow you to stay at the north ranch within walking distance from the trout ponds. Situated in Montana’s Little Belt Mountains, this ranch is both a working cattle ranch and a wildlife conservation gem.

It’s worth visiting the ranch to see all of the conservation work that has occurred since 2014. From planting thousands of trees, providing multiple water sources for wildlife, restoring native vegetation and installing miles of wildlife friendly fence. The Montana Mexican John Ranch is a natural resource and wildlife conservation gem.

Whether you are planning to fish in the trout ponds, photograph or paint the landscape and wildlife, or simply walk around and soak up Montana’s Little Belt mountains, this place is like stepping back in time 200 years. You’ll get a sense of what it was like for Lewis and Clark when they explored this area on the return from the Pacific Ocean in 1806.

There are no cleaning services available at the North Ranch. Please leave the cabins clean for the next guests and use the laundry facilities to clean any sheets or kitchen towels. You can also use the laundry facilities for your own clothes.

Clients can book one or more nights at one of the cowboy cabins. This works great for those clients who want to fish the ponds and kick back at the north ranch.

River Ranch RV Parking

Two RV locations at the River Ranch, just a stone’s throw from the Musselshell River.

The River Ranch has two RV spots with power. Bring your own RV and spend a few days at the ranch. Both RV locations are within a hundred yards of the Musselshell River.

This isn’t your typical RV park where you are stacked, side by side, with other RVs. You’ll have plenty of elbow room.

Whether you are fishing, enjoying photography or painting, this is a great option for those who want to spend more time at the ranch with a cost effective option.

Two night minimum required as well as two days of ranch activities.
